Ankara Denies Rumors of Mass Migrant Influx from Iran

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The borders of Turkey are under reliable protection and continuous round-the-clock control. Claims circulating in digital media about an alleged wave of migration from Iran into Turkey do not correspond to reality. This was reported by the Center for Combating Disinformation under the Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidency.

Following the recent Israeli attack on Iran, social media began to circulate reports of a mass influx of migrants across the Iran-Turkey border. However, the Center emphasizes that these publications are disinformation and have no factual basis.

The Turkish Ministry of Interior has officially stated that no increase in illegal crossings or any unusual activity has been recorded along the country’s eastern border. Throughout the entire border, modern security measures are in place: protective walls, thermal imaging cameras, lighting systems, electro-optical and watchtowers, as well as armored observation vehicles. Thanks to these measures, any attempts at illegal crossings are promptly stopped by competent authorities.

It is noted that the false information being spread aims to create a distorted perception of the situation in society, provoke xenophobia, and undermine public order. Citizens are urged not to panic and to trust only verified sources — official statements from authorized bodies.

Legal measures will be taken against those spreading such destructive information in accordance with current legislation. The fight against disinformation will continue through objective information dissemination, active engagement with civil society, and the use of legal instruments.

The claim circulating on some social media platforms that “part of Israel’s civil aviation fleet is stationed in Turkey” is false.

Given the complete absence of civil and military aviation operations between Turkey and Israel, no Israeli aircraft is present in Turkish airports or hangars.

Turkey suspended all flights and aviation cooperation with Israel after Israel launched brutal and barbaric attacks against Palestinians.

Moreover, Israeli officials are prohibited from using Turkish airspace, as has been periodically reported in the news.
