An online business academy will soon begin to operate in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan has developed the concept of a holistic integration system for the institutional development of entrepreneurial education, involving the population in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial skills training.

The concept is implemented in accordance with the approved roadmap according to the principle of the interconnected scheme "Republic - oblast - district (city) - makhalla". Practical work will be carried out in four basic areas as part of specific activities.

The purpose of the events will be the popularization of entrepreneurship, the provision of information on starting a business, training in drawing up a business plan, retraining and advanced training, as well as digitalizing the process of entrepreneurial education and improving the skills and professionalism of teachers.

It is expected that by the end of 2020, almost 34 thousand people will receive the necessary knowledge and skills in various areas of entrepreneurship.

It is planned to strengthen international cooperation in the field of education. For example, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan together with the Turkish Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges intend to open a branch of the University of Economics and Technology of Turkey in Tashkent. Student enrollment has already begun for the 2020/2021 school year.

As part of the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures for the widespread adoption of the digital economy and e-government”, the “Online Business Academy” portal was created at the CCI, which contains textbooks and training courses in seven areas of digital learning development.

The capabilities of the portal can be used by citizens living in various parts of the republic. The system will be integrated with inter-district centers of the startup incubator, which are being built at nine points in the Ferghana Valley. These centers, in turn, will become an integral part of the project “Center for Creating an Ecosystem of Startups and Entrepreneurship Support”, which will be implemented in Tashkent with the assistance of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). If the result is positive, this experience will be applied in all areas of the republic.

For these purposes, in 2020-2024, within the framework of the World Bank credit line, government subsidies in the amount of US$3 million will be allocated, technical assistance in the amount of US$5.5 million will be provided by KOICA.
