An internship program was launched for Uzbek youth at German enterprises
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Currently, the first group of undergraduates of Uzbek universities, taking a three-month internship in leading German companies, is in Germany.
It should be emphasized that this internship program is a pilot project implemented on the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Federal Republic of Germany and the East Committee of the German Economy (ECGE). The partner from the Uzbek side is the “El-Yurt Umidi” Foundation.
The goal of the project is to assist in the training of highly qualified specialists who can compete internationally, as well as exchange experience and best practices, transfer know-how and create partnerships to develop mutually beneficial cooperation between representatives of the business circles of Uzbekistan and Germany.
On the basis of an agreement signed with ECGE, undergraduates of higher educational institutions of our country are now given the opportunity to undergo an internship at leading manufacturing enterprises in Germany.
Recently, Uzbek undergraduates located in various cities of Germany visited the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Berlin. During the meeting in the diplomatic mission of our country, the organizers and participants of this unique educational project shared their impressions of the acquired knowledge and skills, their plans for applying the experience gained in Uzbekistan.
The project manager of the internship program of the ECGE Alena Kulich noted the following:
“This program is being implemented by large German companies on a voluntary basis as support for large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan. This is a pilot project, in which more than 200 students participated in the initial selection. According to the results of the selection for internship in Germany were selected 13 of the most prepared candidates. The program involves students from various universities of Uzbekistan. Currently, young Uzbek specialists are taking internships in different German cities in such areas as business administration, economics, engineering, information technology, law, finance and auditing.
Previously, 30 German companies took part in the program. After all the selection stages, 10 companies selected and invited suitable interns from Uzbekistan. Especially among them should be noted such well-known companies like Siemens, SAP, Knauf, Deutsche Telekom, Günter Papenburg, Mangold Consulting, Rödl & Partner, etc. That is, companies of completely different profiles including the banking sector in the face of Commerzbank.
In general, German companies are very pleased with the selection results. Today we receive only positive feedback on young cadres of Uzbekistan. This suggests that Uzbekistan has a decent education system that meets international standards.
German companies are also impressed with their personal qualities - the diligence, reliability and punctuality of the Uzbek trainees. That is, they embody all those qualities that are very much appreciated in Germany.
We hope that our first experience will gain momentum and will become a really strong “bridge” for the further development and strengthening of business ties between Uzbekistan and Germany.
The results of the program are already making themselves felt. In the future, Uzbek students who have completed an internship in Germany will be a kind of contact for Uzbek and German business. They can share the experience of German companies, since they already know everything from within, each of them in their own field closely interact with colleagues in other companies and structures. Young Uzbek specialists will have a clear idea of what exactly the success of German business is and why this system in Germany functions so smoothly. In general, our goal is to make a significant contribution to the development of priority sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan, thereby further strengthening business ties between our countries.
Sanjar Nazarov, graduate student of Tashkent State Law University:
- At present I am undergoing an internship at Rödl & Partner, which is located in the city of Nuremberg. This is an international company that employs highly competent specialists - lawyers, tax consultants and auditors. The company represents a range of legal services not only for state-owned enterprises, but also for private ones. I am sure that the experience and knowledge gained in Germany will certainly be applied in practice, thus contributing to the further development of our country.
