Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 March 2021, an international round table was held on the topic “Further development and support of exports in the Republic of Uzbekistan: existing problems and improving legislation in solving them”.
It was attended by members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, senior officials of relevant ministries and departments, representatives of international organizations, as well as representatives of the media.
The event was organized by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in order to develop proposals to increase the export potential of Uzbekistan by improving legislation and eliminating negative factors that restrain exports.
It was noted that one of the priority directions of Uzbekistan's economic policy is to improve the business climate and create favorable conditions for expanding the export potential of small businesses and private entrepreneurship.
For this, in recent years, a number of legal documents have been adopted by the head of state and government on the creation of national institutions to support the export of small businesses and private entrepreneurship.
Based on the general positive dynamics of foreign trade and export indicators, it was recommended to continue to increase the rates of the actual growth of its volumes, as well as the volume of exports in industries.
In addition, legislation is being improved in the field of investment activities and support for export entities to create favorable conditions for entrepreneurs so that they can implement their business plans and development strategy. Significant changes are also taking place in the conduct of export controls, namely for obtaining the necessary export certificates and export customs clearance. For the development of the sphere, it is recommended to pay due attention to deep marketing research, the formation of long-term stable sales markets, the creation of foreign trade infrastructure, including abroad.
During the event, taking into account the priorities outlined by the head of state in the Address to the Oliy Majlis, the main directions of legislative reforms on export were identified, recommendations and proposals were developed for the further development of the export support system in Uzbekistan.
