An experiment to be conducted on management of apartment building fund by management companies in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In 2019, an experiment will be conducted in Yunusabad district of Tashkent to manage apartment building fund by professional management companies.

On 4 January, the Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On additional measures to improve the management of the housing and communal infrastructure of the city of Tashkent”.

The selection of management companies will be conducted through a competition. It is expected that the competition and selection of companies will be held until 15 February. Contracts with companies will be concluded before 1 March.

Maintenance and repair of common use property of an apartment housing stock will be carried out by the management company on the basis of an agreement with the owners. The fulfillment of the contract will be binding on all owners of the house.

The amount of mandatory contributions and monthly payments is established by the general meeting of owners, but not less than the minimum size established by the Kengash of people’s deputies of the district.

The management company has the right, on behalf of the owners, to apply to the relevant organizations regarding the supply and quality of public utilities. The company will also receive a withdrawal of the mandatory contributions not paid by the owners in a timely manner.

Persons purchasing premises in an apartment building will also bear the cost of maintaining common property.

The document notes that the procedure for holding a tender for the definition of a management company will be approved by 31 January.
