An agreement was signed on the creation of a branch of the Russian State Pedagogical University in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 21 January 2020, in St. Petersburg, an agreement was signed between the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Herzen, the Ministry of Preschool Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the establishment of a branch of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after Herzen in Tashkent.

The signing ceremony took place after two days of negotiations between the Uzbek delegation and the leadership of the oldest university in the Russian Federation.

The branch will provide training for highly qualified personnel in preschool education, correctional pedagogy, psychology and other specialties for educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with educational programs and generally recognized international requirements. The agreement provides for the launch of the branch in the 2020-2021 academic year.

In addition to undergraduate and graduate programs, the branch will implement continuing education and retraining programs for teaching staff. It is planned that the branch will provide training for full-time and part-time studies, it is also possible to use blended learning.

Graduates of the branch will be given a diploma of the established form on the completion of the Herzen University, which will be recognized as a document on higher education in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Russian State Pedagogical University named after Herzen was founded in 1797 and is a leading pedagogical university in Russia. The university has 2 research institutes, 12 institutes (including the Institute of childhood, the Institute of defectological education and rehabilitation, the Institute of theater, music and choreography, etc.), 11 faculties.

A delegation of the Ministry of Preschool Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Minister A.V.Shin, is visiting St. Petersburg (Russian Federation) from 19 to 23 January to sign an agreement on establishing a branch, discuss organizational issues and study Russian experience in the field of training, retraining and advanced training of personnel, as well as in the organization of social nutrition.
