An agreement was signed between the CEC and the Yuksalish movement on cooperation in the upcoming elections

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 19 October 2019, between the Central Election Commission and the Yuksalish nationwide movement, an agreement was signed according to which mutual cooperation will be established to prepare and conduct high-level elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, regional, district and city Kengashes of people's deputies.

In accordance with the five priority areas of the Development Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Presidential Decree "On the implementation of the state program of the year of active investment and social development", the NGO "Yuksalish" was created, with branches in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent .

The main task of Yuksalish movement is to unite all citizens, who are not indifferent to the progress of Uzbekistan, including our fellow citizens living abroad, the business community, representatives of the academic community, establishing an open dialogue between the people and the business community around the ongoing reforms the formation of an effective system of public control, the mobilization of forces of state power and governing bodies, NGOs and other institutions of civil society, including the citizens themselves and, especially nno, youth. To achieve these goals, the nationwide movement has established close cooperation with more than 20 reputable domestic and foreign organizations. Today, over 5 thousand people are members of the movement.

Widely using the opportunities provided, it was recognized as appropriate within the framework of the signed agreement:

- Organization of an effective clarification of the meaning of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Electoral Code, the Program of basic events for the preparation for the elections to the Oliy Majlis, regional, district and city Kengashes of people's deputies and other legal documents regulating the election process;

- carrying out activities to improve the legal culture of voters by preparing various polls and infographics to ensure openness and transparency of elections;

- organization of assistance in the preparation of analytical materials on the coverage of the election campaign on the proposal of the Central Election Commission and based on the recommendations of the CEC members and their experts, as well as media announcements, including foreign and social networks.

As you know, during the meeting of the Central Election Commission on 11 October, the decision was made for the first time to hold a month of propaganda of the electoral law from 20 October to 20 November 2019. By this decision, the highest bodies of the country - the Chambers of the Oliy Majlis, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General’s Office, ministries, departments, committees, agencies, companies, as well as active civil society institutions and NGOs were given a number of recommendations and tasks.

The signed agreement plays an important role in the implementation of the decision of the Central Election Commission "On holding a month of propaganda of electoral legislation."
