An Accident Involving a Bus Driver Occurred in the Sergeli District

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 20 December 2025, at approximately 16:56, the driver of a Route No. 55 bus belonging to Branch “Bus Depot No. 1,” operating a YUTONG CNG bus (state registration number 01 081 QKA, fleet number 346), was traveling along Khonobod Street in the Sergeli District, according to the press service of JSC Toshshahartransxizmat.

Due to the passage of a train, the driver was forced to stop the vehicle at a railway crossing.

At that moment, another YUTONG CNG bus belonging to Branch “Bus Depot No. 12” (state registration number 01 895 LKA, fleet number 126) was positioned behind the stopped bus. The second bus was driven by E. R., born in 1988, with 17 years of driving experience and one year of service at the enterprise.

The driver E. R. exited the passenger compartment and moved toward the front of the vehicle without engaging the parking brake.

As a result, the bus began to move spontaneously by inertia and pinned the driver, leading to a fatal accident.

It was established that the incident occurred due to negligent actions on the part of the driver of Branch “Bus Depot No. 12.”

As a result of the injuries sustained, the driver E. R. died at the scene.

At present, the incident has been formally documented and is under investigation by the investigative division of the internal affairs bodies.
