American Blogger Stranded in Uzbekistan for Three Days Over Lamborghini with Expired Registration

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The story of American blogger Connor, traveling the world in a rare Lamborghini, became an internet sensation after he was stuck at the Uzbekistan border for nearly three days due to his car overstaying its permitted time in the country.

Connor, the creator of the Camperghini blog, sold his house in the U.S. in 2023, purchased a rare Lamborghini at an auction, converted it for living, and embarked on a round-the-world journey. He entered Uzbekistan in May and attempted to leave in September, only to discover that his vehicle had been in the country nearly two months beyond the allowed 90 days.

According to the Customs Committee, the car entered Uzbekistan on May 2 and was required to leave by August 2. The violation incurred a fine exceeding 20 million soums (approximately US$2,000). Paying the fee proved challenging: the terminal at the border checkpoint was nonfunctional due to an unpaid SIM card, and the nearest ATM was 40 kilometers away. Additionally, Connor’s visa was about to expire, preventing him from leaving the checkpoint independently.

“If they don’t let me out, I’ll have to call in Uncle Trump,” he joked in one of his videos, which garnered hundreds of thousands of views.

The blogger’s Lamborghini remained at the border for three days. The fine was finally paid on Monday, September 29, after the weekend, during which banking operations were unavailable. Following the payment, Connor was released from administrative liability, and his vehicle was allowed to leave the country.

Despite the stressful situation, the blogger said that Uzbekistan left him with warm memories:
“I was panicking at first, but then realized everything is solvable. It was a lesson—always read the rules carefully, even when traveling in your dream car. I am grateful to the people of Uzbekistan for their support and kindness, which I experienced every day.”
