Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the US presents copies of his credentials
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the United States Javlon Vakhabov presented copies of his credentials to Acting Chief of Protocol of the US Department of State Catherine Henderson on 17 October.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the heads of divisions of the State Department in charge of the US relations with Uzbekistan and with the region as a whole, took part in the ceremony.
Representatives of the US State Department welcomed the new Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the US and expressed hope for a more active development of bilateral relations in the future.
According to the American diplomatic protocol, from this moment, Javlon Vakhabov took up his duties de facto. After the presentation of the originals of credentials to US President Donald Trump in the White House, the status of the full Ambassador will be set de jure.
Before this appointment, Javlon Vakhabov held the post of First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
