Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 June, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Qahramon Shokirov presented his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Governor-General of Australia David Hurley.
The Ambassador informed the Governor-General of Australia about the large-scale reforms of political, social and economic life being carried out in Uzbekistan.
The Governor-General praised the stable growth indicators of the economy of Uzbekistan in recent years, a threefold increase in the number of tourists in 2019, rapid reforms in the textile, electrical, agricultural and other sectors of the country.
Noting the comprehensive reforms of the educational system in Uzbekistan, David Hurley noted that there are good prospects for bilateral cooperation with several leading Australian education institutions that could find their place in the education system of Uzbekistan.
The possibility of mutually beneficial cooperation on the transfer of Australian experience in irrigation and reclamation of agricultural land, modern methods of livestock development was also emphasized.
