Al Ittihad and Shurtan share spoils again

Having drawn 1-1 at Guzor Central Stadium two weeks ago, victory for either side in Syria would see them gain the upper hand as the pair battle it out for the second qualifying spot behind the group leaders.

However, neither was able to break the deadlock and both parties had to settle for a point apiece.

The real winners, therefore, are Al Qadsia as their advantage now stands at five points with just two games remaining.

The Kuwait side will book their place in the knockout stage with just a point away at Shurtan on May 4 in Uzbekistan.
