Akbar Jurayev — Three-Time World Champion!

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek weightlifter Akbar Jurayev has become the overall world champion at the ongoing World Weightlifting Championships in Norway.

In the 110 kg weight category, Jurayev won the gold medal in the snatch event, lifting 196 kg and setting a new world record. His compatriot Ruslan Nurudinov placed fourth with a result of 186 kg.

In the clean and jerk, Jurayev lifted 232 kg, bringing his combined total to 428 kg — a result that secured him the title of absolute world champion.

Ruslan Nurudinov earned two bronze medals with a lift of 228 kg in the clean and jerk and a total of 414 kg in the combined event.
