Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A number of systemic measures are being implemented in our country to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. In particular, on 13 May, at a video-selective meeting led by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was noted that in the “green” and “yellow” regions, strictly observing sanitary and hygienic requirements, it is possible to gradually introduce the provision of a number of services to the population.

The Special Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan has approved the Interim Procedure for the introduction of local-level rail services during the quarantine period, according to which, starting from 18 May, partial passenger transportation in air and rail flights in local traffic will begin.

According to this decision, high-speed Afrosiyob trains will operate from Tashkent to cities such as Navoi, Bukhara and Karshi, and high-speed trains from Tashkent to Andijan will run to the Ferghana Valley (all flights are roundtrip).

As we reported earlier, the organization of passenger transportation requires mandatory compliance with all quarantine rules, including reducing the number of passengers, unconditional implementation of disinfection and other sanitary requirements, and measures.

Also, one of the important conditions for passengers is the fact that they have a certificate stating that the coronavirus infection analysis at the Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare was received no more than 120 hours before boarding and that the result of the analysis is “negative”.

Upon entering the territory of railway stations and railway stations, all passengers must be in disposable medical protective masks and gloves, observe the social distance and travel strictly along specially designated guide lines. Also, in train cars, all passengers are accommodated while maintaining their social distance.

Passengers who are not able to issue an electronic ticket can buy it at the ticket offices of railway stations, where disinfection works are also carried out in the prescribed manner. Passengers also need to fill out a passenger questionnaire (route sheet).
