Airbus Helicopters Signs Contract with Uztechtorg for Flexrotor Systems

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Airbus Helicopters has signed a contract with the state-owned enterprise Uztechtorg for the supply of an undisclosed number of Flexrotor systems. Uztechtorg is responsible for importing military and dual-use equipment into Uzbekistan.

“Uzbekistan is a long-standing and valued partner of Airbus Helicopters, and we are proud that Uztechtorg has chosen the advanced Flexrotor system to enhance its unmanned capabilities,” said Olivier Michalon, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Business at Airbus Helicopters.

He emphasized that Uzbekistan will become the first Flexrotor customer in Central Asia, highlighting the country’s commitment to adopting innovative technologies and strengthening cooperation in both manned and unmanned platforms.

The Flexrotor system is designed to perform a wide range of intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) tasks.

In Uzbekistan, the system is planned to be used within advanced scenarios for Crewed-Uncrewed Teaming, integrating it with helicopters to improve situational awareness and mission efficiency.

Flexrotor is a modern vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned vehicle with a maximum take-off weight of 25 kg, capable of conducting ISTAR missions lasting more than 12–14 hours.

It can carry a variety of payloads, including electro-optical systems and advanced sensors, and can be adapted to meet specific customer requirements.

The system’s ability to autonomously take off and return from land or water within an area of just 3.7 × 3.7 meters makes Flexrotor an optimal solution for expeditionary operations with minimal space requirements.
