Air Lease Delivers First Airbus A321XLR to Qanot Sharq in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Air Lease has delivered a new Airbus A321-200neo XLR aircraft to Uzbekistan’s airline Qanot Sharq. This is the first A321XLR in Qanot Sharq’s fleet and the first of four aircraft to be provided to the carrier under a long-term lease agreement, Air Lease reported.

“We are proud to be the first lessor to introduce the A321XLR in Asia together with Qanot Sharq, an airline we have supported since day one,” said AJ Abedin, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Air Lease. He noted that the aircraft’s high operating efficiency combined with Uzbekistan’s strategic location creates unique opportunities for the development of air services.

Qanot Sharq owner Nosir Abdugafarov added: “We are delighted to welcome our first A321XLR. With its outstanding range and cost efficiency, the aircraft will allow us to launch new nonstop routes from Uzbekistan, expand our international network, and enhance passenger comfort.”

The addition of the A321XLR is expected to strengthen Qanot Sharq’s position on international routes and enable the airline to offer passengers more convenient and efficient travel options.
