Aion Beverages Ordered to Remove Energy Drink Banners from 106 Vehicles
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Competition Committee has initiated a case against Aion Beverages for illegal outdoor advertising of its energy drink, Gorilla, the agency’s press service reported.
The complaint was filed by a resident of the Yunusabad district of Tashkent, who noted that the banners on the company’s vehicles violated the requirements of the Advertising Law. During the inspection, it was found that promotional stickers for the drink had been placed on 106 vehicles, in violation of Article 37 of the Advertising Law.
A special commission from the capital’s office of the Committee opened the case and issued Aion Beverages an order to eliminate the violations and remove the advertisements from all vehicles.
The current version of the Advertising Law prohibits outdoor and street advertising of energy drinks, the use of athletes to promote them, advertising to minors, and conducting incentive-based promotions.
