Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A presentation of the 10-volume manual on journalism took place today at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications. The management of the Agency, senators, scientists, teachers, students of specialized universities and faculties, and representatives of the media took part in the event.
It should be noted that the publication was created in accordance with the order of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Agency for Information and Mass Communications to prepare and issue a manual in the field of journalism based on the experience of recognized theorists and practitioners in this field, as well as specialists in protecting the rights of journalists, including international experience.
“The preparation of this manual began five months ago,” said First Deputy Director of the Agency Dilshod Saidjanov. - Then head of AIMK Komil Allamjonov, and deputy Saida Mirziyoyev paid great attention to this work and strongly supported it. The working group was in constant contact and quickly resolved all issues, which made it possible to implement such a large-scale project in such a short time.
The teaching staff of the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek State University of World Languages, and the National University of Uzbekistan took part in the creation of the manual.
- In order to determine each volume, chapters and topics of the manual, along with involving representatives of the above universities, a working group was created consisting of well-known journalists of the Center for Advanced Studies of Journalists, the National News Agency of Uzbekistan, the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan, the Dunyo News Agency, and the National Association of Electronic Mass Media information, famous figures of the sphere. An advisory board convened several times. Responsible editors for each volume were appointed, and on the basis of their recommendations the authors were formed, said D. Saidjanov.
It is assumed that the manual will be used not only in the educational process in preparing students, but will also take its rightful place in each publishing house and on the personal shelves of already held journalists.
The collection includes such volumes as “Theory, History and Development of Journalism”, “Journalistic Law and Ethics”, “Media Linguistics and Editing”, “Media Marketing and Management”, “Genres and Issues of Mastery in the Printed Media”, “Audiovisual Journalism ”,“ Online journalism and new media trends ”,“ PR services in the modern media sphere ”,“ Specialized journalism ”,“ Sociology and psychology of journalism ”, each of which was published in a circulation of 1000 copies.
“Until now, there has not been a worthy training tool for media workers,” noted Mahmujon Parpiev, a well-known journalist, deputy chairman of the Senate Committee on Science, Education and Health. “And this guide filled an existing gap.” It will become an important source of information not only for future, but also for current journalists. I would like to thank the heads of the Agency and the staff of the Uzbekistan Printing and Publishing House for their contribution to this work, as well as the authors of the manual.
Participants of the event noted that the publication of this publication is a new step in the development of the industry.
“The publication of the manual is as beneficial as the water gushing out of a cut rock in Alisher Navoi’s poem“ Farhad and Shirin, ”Akhmadjon Meliboev, editor-in-chief of Jahon Adabiyoti magazine, expressed his opinion. - It will not be an exaggeration to say that the Agency, authors and the creative team have opened a wide path to the source of knowledge. This work is the result of enormous research. In this regard, it would be advisable to establish the scientific title “Professor of Journalism” in Uzbekistan.
Students studying journalism specialties also made presentations and emphasized the importance of the manual.
