AIMC and OSCE address the development of cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held today between the team of the Agency of Information and Mass Communications (AIMC) and Thomas Greminger, Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
During the dialogue, the sides considered the policy of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, aimed at increasing the transparency of the activities of state bodies, about large-scale reforms carried out in various fields, and ongoing work to ensure freedom of speech and the media. They also discussed bilateral relations based on mutual trust and respect, and prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation.
At a meeting organized with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Austria, Mr. Greminger noted that he was aware of the changes and reforms being implemented in our country, and added that the OSCE highly appreciates these positive efforts.
He expressed his admiration for the pace and scale of the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, and also noted the contribution that the Agency makes to the development of the media and freedom of speech.
At the same time, the OSCE Secretary General said in his speech that media workers should adhere to the responsibility and principles of journalistic ethics.
Among the positive changes, Thomas Greming highlighted the possibility of unhindered access to foreign information resources in Uzbekistan. He underlined that the open policy of the country will positively affect its further progressive development, and the OSCE will be a reliable partner on this path.
