Ahlers Logistics Considers Establishing a Hub in Tashkent or Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Ahlers Logistics is exploring the creation of a logistics hub in Tashkent or Samarkand, the company announced.

According to the company’s statement, this move represents a strategic step in strengthening its long-term presence in Central Asia and expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan.

Last week, Ahlers participated in an exclusive roundtable with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his official visit to Belgium. The event also included leading European executives and high-ranking EU officials, including EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Maarten Koss.

The high-level meeting highlighted the growing partnership between Uzbekistan and the European Union, emphasizing shared goals in sustainable development, innovation, and Eurasian connectivity. President Mirziyoyev noted the impressive pace of economic reforms in Uzbekistan. Over the past seven years, trade with Europe has doubled, and more than 1,000 joint ventures with European capital have been established, reflecting increasing investor confidence and the country’s dynamic transition toward modernization and global integration.

Ahlers CEO Dave van den Bos reaffirmed the company’s strategic commitment to the region, stating, “Uzbekistan is one of the key architects of future Eurasian connectivity, and we are proud to be part of this transformation.”

At the “Uzbekistan Economic Day in Europe” forum, organized by the Euro-Uzbek Association for Economic Cooperation (EUROUZ), Ahlers further demonstrated its commitment to developing the country’s logistics sector by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The agreement outlines the development of a Partnership Action Plan, including a feasibility study for establishing a modern logistics hub in Tashkent or Samarkand. The initiative aims to optimize regional and international cargo flows, boost trade, and attract investment into Uzbekistan’s rapidly developing logistics infrastructure.
