Agreement on economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan comes into force

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 17 July 2017, an agreement between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan on economic cooperation for 2018-2020 entered into force, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

The agreement was signed on 6 March 2017 in Ashgabat within the framework of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Within the framework of this document Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan plan to intensify cooperation on further development of trade and economic relations.

In particular, the parties intend to create favorable conditions for increasing trade turnover, increasing volume and assortment of mutual deliveries of goods (services), as well as establishing direct business contacts between representatives of business structures of the two countries.

The agreement approves a programme, which envisages implementation of 35 measures in various areas of economic cooperation.
