AGMK starts to develop Dalneye field
Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine (AGMK ) said it started to realize wide-scale investment project “Utilizing Dalneye field”.
The project is aimed at ensuring further balanced development, maintenance and expansion of AGMK’s production facilities and strengthening the raw materials base of the combine by developing copper and molybdenum ores at the Dalneye field with the construction of a new mining and metallurgical complex using modern technologies and equipment.
The project will be realized from 2017 to 2028 in two stages. The first stage will be realized from 2017 to 2021.
In the first stage, AGMK will develop Central mine at Dalneye field. The combine will conduct mining and construction works, as well as construct production, transport, energy and other infrastructure projects. AGMK will purchase mining, transport and other equipment.
The second stage (2019-2028) envisages the construction of a complex of processing, smelting, associated and auxiliary facilities with a processing capacity of 23.0 million tons of ore per year with the continuation of overburden and mining operations.
The cost of the project is about US$1.7 billion. The project will be financed due to loans from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan, commercial banks and own funds of the AGMK.
