AGMK sends a batch of books to a remote village of Navoi region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AGMK) is creating a modern information and resource center for representatives of Kazakh nationality living in a remote village of Tomdi, Navoi region of Uzbekistan, the press service of the enterprise said.
As part of this project, the plant recently organized a shipment of books to this center. These are about 850 books, including collections of works by the best authors of the Kazakh classics - Abay, Mukhtar Avezov, Azilkhan Nurshaihov, Kabdesh Zhumadilov and Turdiokin Zheksenboev.
Residents of Tomdy were also presented with works of Uzbek and foreign classics - Leo Tolstoy, Nikolai Gogol, Anton Chekhov, which are likely to be appreciated by readers. The residents of the village will get to know better the best works of Chulpan, Oybek, Odil Yokubov, Tohir Malik and Muhammad Yusuf.
"This project was initiated by the President of Uzbekistan during a visit to the Navoi region. The AGMK, for its part, supported it and continues to create a modern center in the village of Tomdi. This is very important, since the two brotherly peoples of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have been closely linked for many years and cooperation, show tolerance and respect for each other," said Chairman of the Board of the AGMK Abdulla Khursanov at the ceremony of sending books.
According to him, in Uzbekistan today there is an active development of a network of libraries and information centers, where the population can not only get acquainted with the work of recognized authors, but also new products, as well as use the services of free Internet.
