AGMK Raises Output to 51.6 Trillion Soums in 2025, Sets Ambitious Plans for 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AGMK) exceeded all key production and financial targets, reaching an industrial output of 51.6 trillion soums, which is 34.5% higher than the previous year, Umida Karshiboeva, Head of the Combine’s Information Service, reported at a briefing.
According to Karshiboeva, production reached 119% of the planned forecast, with an absolute increase of 13.2 trillion soums compared to 2024.
Copper production rose to 148,500 tons, an increase of 11,100 tons year-on-year. Gold and silver output also exceeded the planned targets. Compared to 2016, copper output grew by 140.8%, gold by 139.8%, and silver by 163.5%.
A major investment milestone in 2025 was the launch of the Copper Concentrator Plant-3 in pilot-industrial mode, which produced its first concentrate on 27 March.
Throughout the year, the enterprise produced goods valued at $130 million, including $58 million in gold, US$65.9 million in copper, and US$4.85 million in silver. New rotary kilns were commissioned at the lime and copper smelting plants, a new explosives production facility was built, and total direct foreign loans reached US$600.2 million.
Financial performance was accompanied by increased budget contributions: AGMK transferred 23.57 trillion soums to the state budget, 4.2 trillion more than the previous year.
Optimization of expenses reduced production costs by 11.8%, while exports reached $510.4 million, exceeding the forecast by 4.2%.
The combine significantly expanded localization and industrial cooperation. Under the localization program, goods worth 1.31 trillion soums were produced domestically, and cooperative procurement amounted to 4.2 trillion soums — three times the 2024 level.
In digitalization, 26 automation projects were implemented in 2025. At the Kalmakyr and Yoshlyk I deposits, systems for monitoring ore, equipment, and driver conditions were introduced, and a pilot machine vision project was launched on the concentrator processes to stabilize metal recovery. More than 3,500 cameras are now in use to ensure industrial safety and labor protection.
AGMK continued active social and environmental initiatives, including the construction and renovation of educational, sports, and cultural facilities, as well as the planting of 1.9 million trees across 270 hectares as part of environmental programs.
For 2026, the combine plans to increase industrial output to 54.4 trillion soums.
Key priorities include switching Copper Concentrator Plant-3 to continuous operation, commissioning a new sulfuric acid unit at the zinc plant, developing Concentrator Plant-4, and beginning infrastructure works for a new copper smelting complex. Energy efficiency, further cost reduction, and improvement of environmental conditions also remain central objectives.
