Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant manufactured a cauldron for sumalak with a record size, the press service of the enterprise said.
The cauldron will be used to cook sumalak during the Festival of Tourism and Folk Customs “Sumalak Saili”, which will be held on the days of the celebration of Navruz in Namangan.
"Last year, the event organizers prepared five tons of this delicious delicacy. Now they are planning to break their own record, so that their achievement can be found in the Guinness Book of Records. But where can we get such a huge cauldron? The city administration asked us to produce a cauldron and we, of course, supported this initiative and started to cast a cauldron”, Dilshod Sartibayev, head of the technical department of the Central Repair and Mechanical Plant of AGMK, said.
Its diameter is 3.8 meters, the volume - 7 thousand liters, the total weight - 4600 kilograms, the depth of 1.1 meters. The hearth on which the cauldron will be placed will weigh 3.6 tons.
It is planned that more than seven tons of sumalak will be cooked in new cauldron.
