Afrosiyob high-speed train starts to run between Tashkent and Shakhrisabz

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Temir Yollari will launch of movement of regular high speed train Afrosiyob between Tashkent and Shakhrisabz from 7 September 2018.

According to the company’s press service, Afrosiyob trains will carry passengers from Tashkent to Karshi, and then to Shakhrisabz. The return train will move along the route Shakhrisabz - Karshi - Tashkent.

In August 2018, Uzbekiston Temir Yollari completed the implementation of the project for modernization and electrification of the Karshi-Kitab railway line. The total length of the electrified section was 124 kilometers. The project cost was US$58.87 million.
