Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 6 April 2020, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov and the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Hanif Atmar.

Abdulaziz Kamilov warmly congratulated Hanif Atmar on his appointment as head of the foreign affairs agency and wished him success in his work.

Hanif Atmar expressed deep gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the firm support provided by Uzbekistan to international efforts in a political settlement of the crisis in Afghanistan.

He also thanked the Uzbek side for humanitarian aid in the form of sought-after medicines and food products.

The foreign ministers also exchanged views on bilateral issues and a number of regional policy issues.
