Afghan Delegation Explores Ferghana’s Economic Potential
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An Afghan delegation led by Alhaj Zilgai Arian Azimi, Deputy Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, arrived in the Ferghana region on a working visit aimed at strengthening bilateral trade and economic ties.
During the visit, the delegation toured historical and cultural sites in the city of Kokand. Particular attention was given to the Khudoyar Khan Palace, a historic residence where Afghan representatives were introduced to its unique artifacts and rich heritage. The delegation was accompanied by Deputy Hokim of the region Nuriddin Mamajonov.
The visitors also toured major industrial and manufacturing enterprises in the region, including the Boboshbek production and trade complex in Uchkuprik district. The complex specializes in the production of garments and knitwear, as well as trading and logistics operations. The delegation inspected production facilities, retail outlets, and warehouses, assessing opportunities for cooperation and export potential.
As part of the visit, B2B meetings were held with local entrepreneurs. Following the negotiations, initial bilateral agreements worth a total of US$67 million were signed, opening new prospects for expanding trade and investment cooperation between the regions.
