ADM Global and Japan’s Sojitz to Invest US$100 Million in Uzbekistan’s Automotive Sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — ADM Global, the official distributor of Great Wall Motor (GWM) vehicles in Uzbekistan, and Japan’s Sojitz Corporation, one of the world’s largest trading and investment conglomerates, have signed a strategic partnership agreement.
Under the deal, Sojitz acquired a stake in the automotive distribution business and provided an additional investment of US$100 million.
Sojitz, which operates in more than 50 countries, invests in industries such as energy, transport, infrastructure, and high technology, while also managing distribution and production projects. The company has been cooperating with ADM Global for over three years. ADM Global’s reliable business model and solid financial performance were key factors in expanding the partnership, with the memorandum of understanding underscoring the high level of trust from Japanese investors.
The investment will be directed toward strengthening the automotive distribution system as well as developing larger-scale trade and production projects.
As sales volumes continue to grow in Uzbekistan, plans include expanding localization, creating new jobs, and boosting employment.
Experts note that the initiative will accelerate the development of the country’s automotive sector and make a significant contribution to Uzbekistan’s economy as a whole.
The agreement also highlights ADM Global’s position as a trusted partner for international companies and reaffirms the steady interest of foreign investors in developing business in Uzbekistan.
