ADB: Uzbekistan’s GDP in 2018 will grow by 4.9%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan’s GDP will grow by 4.9% in 2018. This was stated in the report of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) “Asian Development Outlook 2018 Update”.

It should be recalled that the bank projected that the economy of Uzbekistan in 2018 will grow by 5.5% in its April report.

At the same time, ADB experts lowered their forecast for GDP growth in Uzbekistan in 2019 from 5.6% to 5%.

The main reason for the decline is the lingering consequences of last year’s devaluation of the sum, the bank’s report said.

ADB noted that inflation in Uzbekistan will be at 16% in 2018 and 14% in 2019.
