ADB provides loan for US$150m to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Board of directors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved allocation of loan for US$150 million to Uzbekistan, which will be used to construction of national highway, on 9 December 2015.

According to the ADB, the resources will be allocated due to ordinary resources of the bank. The Government of Uzbekistan will issue US$80 million of own resources to the project.

The ADB said that the resources will be used to reconstruction of area (228-315 km) of automobile road A-380 (Guzar-Bukhara-Nukus-Beinau) with the length of 87 km.

This is the third tranche within Second Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Corridor 2 Road Investment Program with the cost of US$500 million. The ADB approved programme in September 2011.
