ADB Maintains Uzbekistan’s GDP Growth Forecast at 6.6% for 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s economy is expected to maintain one of the highest growth rates in the region, according to the updated forecast of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The September issue of the Asian Development Outlook 2025 reports that the country’s GDP is projected to grow by 6.6% this year and 6.7% in 2026.

The ADB noted that these figures remain unchanged compared to the April forecast. This reflects stronger-than-expected economic expansion in the first half of 2025, balanced by expectations of a slowdown in activity during the second half of the year.

Unlike most countries in Asia and the Pacific, where growth forecasts were revised downward due to the new global trade environment, Uzbekistan demonstrates resilience. According to the ADB, growth is supported by strong domestic demand and dynamic export development.

By comparison, the overall growth forecast for developing economies in Asia and the Pacific has been lowered to 4.8% in 2025 and 4.5% in 2026, amid high U.S. tariffs, global trade uncertainties, and geopolitical risks.
