Academic year in secondary schools begins on 5 September

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- New academic year will kick off in general schools of Uzbekistan on 5 September 2018, the Minister of Public Education Sherzod Shermatov said.

The Minister noted that according to the Presidential Decree, Uzbekistan’s citizens will have day-offs from 31 August to 4 September in connection with the celebration of Independence Day.

“In order to fully use this opportunity, and for our school teachers, the new school year will begin on 5 September,” he said.

In his opinion, this will also create additional opportunities for family domestic tourism for parents, who have school-age children.
