Abu Dhabi Strengthens Tourism Ties with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Armenia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) hosted the exclusive CIS Travel Marketplace event in the Al-Ain region, bringing together over 200 tourism industry representatives from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Armenia with 62 partners from the emirate, including hotels, attractions, and tour operators.
The initiative is part of DCT Abu Dhabi’s long-term strategy to strengthen cooperation with key markets and increase tourist flows. Recent months have seen growing interest from travelers from CIS countries, evidenced by rising visitor numbers and improved transportation connectivity.
The CIS Travel Marketplace program included thematic discussions, networking, and familiarization activities aimed at enhancing partnerships and providing a deep understanding of the emirate’s tourism potential. Participants experienced the variety of attractions Abu Dhabi offers, from the vibrant pace of the capital to the historic landmarks of Al-Ain, and enjoyed traditional Emirati performances and cultural workshops.
Abdulla Yusuf, Director of International Activities at DCT Abu Dhabi, emphasized that the CIS region is a key and rapidly developing market for the emirate. He noted that building strong local partnerships is crucial, and the marketplace format allows participants not only to showcase Abu Dhabi’s unique attractions but also to establish dialogue, cooperation, and practical tools for promoting the region.
The event forms part of Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030, aimed at developing the sector and strengthening the emirate’s position as a leading global travel destination. Initiatives like this expand the international partner network, foster long-term professional relationships, and affirm Abu Dhabi as a platform for growth and success in the tourism industry.
