Abu Dhabi strengthens presence in CIS tourism market with major roadshow in Astana and Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has successfully wrapped up its Experience Abu Dhabi CIS Roadshow, targeting two key markets in the Commonwealth of Independent States. The events were held on May 13 in Astana and May 15 in Tashkent, bringing together over 400 participants in total.
The primary objective was to promote Abu Dhabi’s diverse tourism offerings and foster strong partnerships with travel industry professionals in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Each roadshow event attracted around 200 tourism experts — including tour operators, travel agents, and hospitality specialists. A delegation of 17 partners from Abu Dhabi — encompassing hotels, tourist attractions, airlines, and DMCs — showcased their latest products and services.
The format included destination presentations, B2B networking sessions, and formal receptions, creating a dynamic platform to position Abu Dhabi as a leading destination for leisure, cultural tourism, family holidays, and business events (MICE).
Abdulla Yousuf, Director of International Operations at DCT Abu Dhabi, emphasized the growing importance of CIS markets, stating: "These countries play an increasingly strategic role in our tourism vision, and we are pleased to engage directly with key industry stakeholders. Roadshows like these allow us to share the latest updates, forge meaningful partnerships, and collectively work toward delivering unique, memorable experiences for travelers. Our Tourism Strategy 2030 guides us toward sustainable growth, where every stage of the journey is designed to add value."
With CIS travelers showing consistent interest in authentic cultural experiences, premium services, and family-friendly travel, Abu Dhabi stands out as a year-round destination with a simplified visa process and an expanding route network.
The roadshow also introduced a range of professional support tools, including localized marketing materials, promotional assets, and the multilingual Experience Abu Dhabi Experts education platform designed for industry professionals.
The events further affirmed Abu Dhabi’s commitment to international collaboration, enhanced the emirate’s visibility across CIS markets, and contributed to the goals of the Tourism Strategy 2030, which aims to attract 39.3 million annual visitors by the end of the decade.
