About 8,480 small businesses created in Uzbekistan in 1Q

In the result, number of existing small businesses as of 1 April 2016 reached 211,350 units, which rose by 9.4% year-on-year.

Share of small businesses in industry reached 37.3% in the first quarter of 2016 (32.6% in 1Q 2015), retail trade – 88.8% (85.2%), services – 57.1% (56.5%), cargo transportation – 41.5% (39.4%) and passenger transportation – 89.5% (87.4%) and employment – 77.1% (76.7%).

In January-March 2016, small and private businesses used investments for 3.236 trillion soums, which makes up 40.2% of total volume of used investments in Uzbekistan.

They carried out works for 4.072 trillion soums (68.4% from total volume of construction works) in January-March 2016, which rose by 17.6% year-on-year.
