About 209,500 companies work in service sector of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Currently, over 316,000 organizations and enterprises operate in Uzbekistan. Of these, 209,500 organizations and enterprises are involved in the services sector. The share of organizations and enterprises in the service sector in the total number of organizations and enterprises was 66.1%.
As of October 1, 2018, the share of organizations and enterprises engaged in trading activities (33.1%) prevails in the structure of existing organizations and enterprises in the services sector.
Expansion of cooperation between countries near and far foreign countries, the rapid development of the tourism industry has influenced the increase in the number of operating organizations and enterprises, providing accommodation and food services. Their share was 9.2%.
The proportion of existing organizations and enterprises engaged in transportation and storage in the total number of existing organizations and enterprises related to the services sector, accounted for 6.2%.
The share of existing organizations and enterprises engaged in information activities and communication services, amounted to 3.3%.
The share of existing organizations and enterprises providing services in the field of health and social services amounted to 3.1%.
In January - September 2018, according to preliminary data, the volume rendered market services was equal to 105.24 trillion soums. Compared from the same period last year, the growth rate was 8.9%.
Compared to the same period last year, there is an increase in the volume of transport services (by 10.5 trillion soums), trade services (by 6.9 trillion soums), financial services (by 4.0 trillion soums), communication services and informatization (by 1.5 trillion soums), services in education (1.1 trillion soums).
A slight increase in the volume of services was noted for health services. Compared with January-September 2017, their volume increased by 0.3 trillion soums.
The highest growth rates were recorded in services in the field of architecture, engineering surveys, technical tests and analysis (+31.3%); financial services (+25.4%); education services (+24.2%); communication and information services (+17.3%), services in the health sector (+14.5%).
The lowest growth rates are observed in individual services (+2.4%), repair services for computers and household goods (+3.4%), services related to real estate (+3.6%).
In the structure of rendered market services by economic activity, a significant part is occupied by transportation services. In January-September 2018, their share was 29.7%. Along with this, the largest share is occupied by trade services (27.2%), financial services (14.0%), communication services and information (6.8%)
Despite the relatively high growth rates, the share of services in the field of architecture, engineering research, technical tests and analysis, as well as health care services in total rendered market services is insignificant - it was 1.4%.
The volume of financial services in January-September 2018 was equal to 14.72 trillion soums, the growth rate amounted to 25.4%.
The growth rate of financial services is observed in Jizzakh (+44.9%), Surkhandarya (+43.3%), Navoi (+38.7%), Tashkent (+34.7%), Samarkand (+32.1%) regions and in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+40.0%).
In the total volume of financial services, their share prevails, except for services insurance and pension coverage (88.7%).
The largest share in financial services, except for insurance and pension provision services, is made up of intermediation services in the monetary sphere (96.7%).
Among the regions, the largest share of financial services, except insurance and pension services, is recorded in Kashkadarya (91.0%), Syrdarya (90.9%), Surkhandarya (90.9%), Samarkand (90.8%), Jizzakh (90.6%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (90.8%). The lowest indicator was recorded in Bukhara region (85.9%).
In the total volume of transport services, the largest share is occupied by road transport (49.0%).
In the structure of transport services, the leading place is occupied by road transport services - 49.2%.
In the total volume of transport services, the share of transportation services through pipelines was 17.8%.
Services rendered by rail transport in the total volume of transport services account for 13.9%.
The share of freight and passenger transportation by air is 11.4% of the total transport services.
Auxiliary transport activities accounted for 7.7% of total transport services.
Mobility, accessibility, relatively low prices allow the automobile transport to hold the championship among other types of transport for a long time. In January - September 2018, the volume of market services provided by road transport was equal to 15.38 trillion soums.
The smallest share in the total volume of transportation services provided by road transport was recorded in Syrdarya (1.6%), Jizzakh (2.7%), Navoi (2.8%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.2%).
The largest share falls on Tashkent (16.9%), Tashkent (13.7%), Samarkand (11.7%), Fergana (9.1%), Andijan (8.7%), Bukhara (7.3%) and Kashkadarya (7.2%) regions
The use of high-tech innovation in the field of information and communication technologies contributes to improving management and technological processes in enterprises, creating new and expanding existing markets for goods and services in various sectors of the economy, which ultimately leads to an improvement in the quality of life of the population.
High growth rates were noted in Tashkent (+23.6%), Namangan (+17.7%), Samarkand (+17.6%), Bukhara (+17.2%) and the city of Tashkent (+18.9%).
A slight increase in communication and information services, compared with last year, was recorded in Syrdarya (+11.3%), Khorezm (+12.8%), Surkhandarya (+12.9%) regions.
Currently, trade has become an active participant in the process of forming a consumer-oriented market demand. Trade services form a significant part of the total volume of services rendered in the economy.
In January-September 2018, the volume of trade services was equal to 28.64 trillion soums. Specific weight in the total volume of rendered market services amounted to 27.2%.
The structure of trade services is dominated by retail services, except for cars and motorcycles. Their share was 67.2%.
The share of wholesale trade services (except for cars and motorcycles) was 26.1%.
Wholesale and retail trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles, including car and motorcycle repair services, account for 6.7% of total trade services.
In January-September 2018, the volume of services in the field of education was equal to 3.76 trillion soums, compared with the corresponding period of previous year increase of 24.2%. The growth of these services is due to an increase in the number of applicants studying in institutions of higher education on a contract basis, including at higher rates.
Among the regions, the highest indicator was recorded in Syrdarya (+62.9%), Bukhara (+47.4%), Kashkadarya (+36.1%) and Surkhandarya (+30%) regions.
Comparatively low growth rates are observed in the Andijan (+12.0%) and Samarkand (+18.5%) regions.
Tashkent is the leader among the regions (34308.0 billion soums).Compared to the same period last year, the growth rate of market services rendered in Tashkent amounted to 12.5%.
The provision of high growth rates in the city of Tashkent is primarily associated with an increase in real incomes of the population, the development of industries for the production of final consumer products. In the total volume of market services provided, the share of Tashkent is significant - 32.6.
High growth rates are observed in Jizzakh (+14.4) and Navoi (+12.8%) regions. Low growth rates were observed in Tashkent (+6.0%), Kashkadarya (107.2%), Andijan (+7.4%) region. The smallest share was recorded in the Syrdarya region (1.3%).
As of October 1, 2018, the volume of rendered market services per capita was 3.2 million soums. Compared with January – September 2017, the volume of rendered market services per capita increased by 811,300 soums.
The highest rate in terms of market rendered services per capita marked in Tashkent – 13.82 million soums.
