About 11,000 children to receive Presidential gifts in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Presidential New Year events are held annually in Uzbekistan for orphans, children left without parental care, children whose parents died defending their homeland, as well as children from families in need of social protection.

The Ministry of Public Education, together with the concerned departments, is carrying out preparatory work for conducting high-level events of the “Presidential Christmas Tree”.

By tradition, during the “Presidential Christmas Tree”, children will receive Presidential gifts.

This year, about 11,000 children will receive gifts on behalf of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that this year the composition of the Presidential Gifts was revised. Last year, children received gifts consisting of educational supplies of 11 items and sweets of 17 items.

This year’s Presidential gift consists of a backpack, 6 items of educational supplies and 20 items of sweets, soft toys and a chess set.

On 26 December, 4,214 gifts were delivered to Tashkent, Syrdarya, Jizzakh regions and Tashkent city by road. 6,428 gifts were sent to nine regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan via the flights of Uzbekistan Airways.

Gifts will be presented to children in a festive atmosphere at the events of the "Presidential Christmas Tree", which will be held on 29 December in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Tashkent city and in all regions.

Deputy Minister of Education of Uzbekistan Dilshod Kenjaev noted: “In our country, special attention is paid to the education of the young generation, so that they grow comprehensively and harmoniously developed personalities. Of course, much attention is paid to orphans, children left without parental care, as well as children from families in need of social protection. “The Presidential Christmas tree” is one of the brightest examples of concern from the state to the young generation.”
