About 100 projects for US$40m to be implemented in Karshi
The document for developing regional center for next several years was adopted in line with the resolution of the President “On programme on developing road-transport communication and perspective plans of construction in Karshi city” from 25 July 2013.
The city should develop as the largest industrial center and transport hub of the region, Pravda Vostoka newspaper reported. It should become cargo transit corridor from CIS to southern Asia.
The area of Karshi will increase almost twice and reach at least 17,000 hectares. Some 234 billion soums would be spent to construction of four-lane ring road with the length of 56 km in next four years. It is also planned to construct seven transport road junction around the ring road, which should decrease load of the city streets. Some 30 km of radial roads will be reconstructed as well. It is planned to direct over 34 billion soums to these works. The city will also construct six bus stations and purchase 150 buses.
It is also planned to reconstruct water supply network of the city. Karshi uses artesian springs to supply water to population of the city. It is planned to launch 35 artisan springs in 2014-2015 to current 86 existing ones. The state budget will issue over 25 billion soums to these works.
The city also plans to construct new pump stations and pipe networks. It is also planned to modernize existing pump stations and water supply network.
The sewerage system of Karshi city will be also modernized. It is planned to double capacity of sewage system in 2014-2018 and reconstruct 25 km of sewage collectors and lay almost 70 km of new lines and reconstruct 14 km. it is planned to construct four compressor-pump stations.
Karshi city also plans to implement prgramme on improving drainage system, sanitary cleaning system, electricity, gas and water supply systems.
