Abdusalom Azizov becomes head of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Abdusalom Azizov was appointed as chairman of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan.

At this post, he replaced Ihtiyor Abdullayev, who left the position for health reasons. Over the past year, Abdullaev experienced two complex surgical operations on the cervical and lumbar spine.

Earlier, Lieutenant-General Abdusalom Azizov worked as the Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan.

Bakhodir Kurbanov became the new Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan. Prior to that, he commanded the Tashkent Military District.
