Abdulla Azizov Discusses Cooperation with Major Swiss Pharmaceutical Companies with Swiss Ambassador

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 30 September 2025, Abdulla Azizov, Director of Uzbekistan’s Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, held a meeting with Konstantin Obolensky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Uzbekistan.

As part of the visit, the ambassador was introduced to the innovative scientific and production pharmaceutical cluster Tashkent Pharma Park, including a tour of its facilities and a presentation of opportunities available to investors.

During the talks, discussions focused on major Swiss pharmaceutical companies such as Roche and Novartis, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises in the sector.

Particular attention was given to measures aimed at preventing the circulation of counterfeit medicines. The agency head highlighted that Uzbekistan has introduced the Track & Trace system and Data Matrix controls to mitigate such risks, while consumers can report suspicious medicines through the PharmUz mobile application.

The Swiss ambassador praised the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan and the potential of its pharmaceutical industry, expressing readiness to facilitate cooperation with Swiss pharmaceutical manufacturers.
