Abdulla Aripov Participates in Meeting of CIS Council of Heads of Government

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 29 September 2025, a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was held in Minsk.

The session was attended by the prime ministers of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives from Turkmenistan and Armenia, and the CIS Secretary General, Sergey Lebedev, according to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The Uzbek delegation was led by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov.

The agenda included 15 items related to socio-economic development, digitalization, and scientific and technological cooperation.

Following the meeting, the participants approved:

The CIS Science and Technology Development Strategy for 2026–2035;

Key areas of cooperation in forestry and the forest industry;

The Digitalization Strategy for Multimodal Transport Corridors;

The Strategy for Cooperation in Developing the Information Society and Digital Economy through 2035, along with its implementation plan.

Additionally, a Cooperation Agreement on the Prevention of Locust Infestations was signed, documents on construction industry pricing were approved, as well as agreements on cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, implementation of the second phase of the CIS Economic Development Strategy through 2030, and the preparation and conduct of the Year of Health Protection in the CIS in 2026.

The meeting also addressed funding for the unified air defense system, support for veterans of local conflicts, and the search for military personnel missing in Afghanistan.

The next session of the CIS Council of Heads of Government is scheduled to be held in the first half of 2026 in Turkmenistan.
