Grigory Karasin is in Uzbekistan on a working visit, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The sides exchanged views on key issues of the Uzbek-Russian agenda, including within the framework of multilateral organizations.
The sides noted with satisfaction that the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Russia, held in April 2017 and extensive negotiations at the highest level, opened a new, dynamic phase in interstate relations.
It was noted that the talks of the Presidents of the two countries expanded mutually beneficial relations in the trade-economic and investment fields, allowed to activate direct contacts between the regions of Uzbekistan and Russia, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
Diplomats of Uzbekistan and Russia discussed issues of a regional and international nature, including the situation in Afghanistan.
On the same day, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry hosted another round of high-level bilateral consultations.
