Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 December 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain with a residence in Moscow, Fernando Valderrama Pareja.

Accepting credentials, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his assumption of office and wished him success in strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

Prospects for further development of Uzbekistan – Spain dialogue in political, interparliamentary, economic, cultural-humanitarian and other fields were considered at the meeting.

Practical aspects of the upcoming bilateral contacts at various levels were discussed, including holding of the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic and Investment Cooperation and a business forum with participation of leading companies of Uzbekistan and Spain. Special attention was paid to expanding cooperation in tourism, where Spain has considerable experience.

Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
