During the February meeting, the foreign ministers discussed concrete ways of further strengthening comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields.
As it was emphasized, the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to the People’s Republic of China in May 2017, which was historic in scope and effectiveness, raised bilateral ties to a qualitatively new level, demonstrated a high degree of mutual trust among the leaders of states.
Ministers exchanged views on preparations for the forthcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Qingdao and a bilateral meeting of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of China Xi Jinping.
During the discussion of the regional agenda, Abdulaziz Kamilov and Wang Yi highly appreciated the results of the March international high-level conference on Afghanistan in Tashkent, in which the delegation of the People’s Republic of China took an active part, and confirmed their readiness for cooperation within the framework of settlement of the Afghan conflict.
The sides also considered other current issues of Uzbek-Chinese cooperation.
