Abdulaziz Akkulov Appointed Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Abdulaziz Akkulov has been appointed as the Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, the press secretary of the President, Sherzod Asadov, announced.
At the same time, Umid Shadiev has been relieved of his duties as Chairman of the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change due to his transfer to a new position.
Prior to this appointment, Abdulaziz Akkulov served as Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to the UAE since April 2022.
Born in 1985, Akkulov graduated from Tashkent State University of Economics with a degree in International Tourism Management. Since 2006, he has held various positions within the State Committee for Tourism Development.
From November 2018 to February 2020, he served as Acting Chairman of the Committee, after which he was appointed First Deputy Chairman. In April 2021, he became Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports.
