Abdukodir Khusanov Nominated for Man City Player of the Month
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan international defender Abdukodir Khusanov has been shortlisted for Manchester City’s Player of the Month award for March.
According to the club’s official platform, three candidates have been nominated for the award: Khusanov, Jérémy Doku and Rodri.
The winner will be determined through a fan vote, which will run until April 1. Supporters must register on the club’s platform to take part.
The club has highly praised the Uzbek defender’s performances throughout March. Despite his young age — he recently turned 22 — Khusanov has displayed a level of composure and confidence typically associated with far more experienced players, as if he had already played hundreds of matches in the English Premier League.
It is noted that the central defender has delivered consistently reliable performances in every match, with his form continuing to improve. His key strengths include strong game reading, timely tackling, and the ability to effectively neutralize dangerous situations near his goal.
Special attention has also been given to Khusanov’s pace, which plays a crucial role in Manchester City’s defensive structure. According to experts, similar speed attributes were previously demonstrated by Kyle Walker.
Throughout March, Khusanov successfully contained leading forwards from top European clubs, underlining his high potential. He has previously won the club’s Player of the Month award in February 2025 and January 2026, and also received the “Etihad Player of the Month” prize in January this year.
