A Woman Fined for Creating a Pornographic Telegram Group in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Chilanzar District Court of Tashkent fined a 26-year-old woman 41.2 million soums for creating and managing a private pornographic group on the Telegram messaging platform.

According to the case materials, the accused organized a community where intimate videos, recorded both by herself and by other individuals, were posted. Access to the group was granted for a fee.

During the court session, the woman fully admitted her guilt and explained that she decided to create her own channel after seeing similar communities online.

The court found her guilty under Article 189 of the Code of Administrative Liability — “Production, import, distribution, advertisement, or demonstration of products promoting a cult of oppression, violence, or cruelty” — and imposed a fine of 100 base calculation units, equivalent to 41.2 million soums.

Following the entry of the decision into legal force, the Redmi Go smartphone used to manage the group will be destroyed.
