A wholesale distribution center to be created in Orenburg region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Foreign trade company Uztrade under the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, the Government of Orenburg region and RusAgroMarket-Holding LLC signed an agreement on cooperation in the construction of the wholesale distribution center in Orenburg region.

The project will focus on working with fruit and vegetable products coming from Uzbekistan to Russia.

The Russian side proposed two sites on the territory of Orenburg region, which meet the requirements for transport and infrastructure accessibility.

The governor of Orenburg region, Yuri Berg, noted that the geostrategic advantages of the Russian region are already being used today for transshipment of goods from Uzbekistan. According to expert estimates, these are about 100 thousand tons of vegetables and fruits. The potential is much greater.

“We are working to attract investors from the Russian and Uzbek sides to create transport and logistics infrastructure facilities in the Orenburg region — wholesale distribution centers for operational processing, storage, distribution, packaging, packaging and further transit of imported fruits and vegetables,” the governor said.

This will make it possible to create favorable conditions and special tariffs for the transportation of goods, including the territories of transit countries. In addition, this project will provide an opportunity to form an effective logistics network to meet the needs of business entities in the provision of transport and logistics and freight forwarding services, as well as to develop optimal schemes for the transport of goods and supply chains.
