A Suspect in Cyber Fraud Deported from Türkiye to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A 20-year-old Uzbek citizen wanted for cyber fraud has been deported from Türkiye to Uzbekistan, the press service of the Uzbek Consulate General in Istanbul reported.

According to the authorities, Umid Zokhirjonov is suspected of embezzling funds and deceiving more than ten compatriots. Once his location was established, he was detained by Turkish authorities and deported to his home country.

The Consulate urged citizens who suffered from the suspect’s actions to contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, its regional offices, or the consulate directly.
